Wood offers many economic advantages.
It requires less energy to fabricate, creates less air and water pollution, and is less dependent on foreign sources for imported materials. What’s more, steel may corrode, and concrete may degrade in exposed conditions.

Q: What services do you offer?

Permapost is one of the few companies providing both fabrication and pressure treating at a single location. We consult with architects and engineers, then working from their plans we fabricate and treat structures such as bridges, sound barriers, boardwalks, campground amenities, and architectural lighting poles.

Permapost also provides “service only” options. We will custom fabricate and treat our customer’s material allowing them to utilize their own supply of engineered wood products, lumber, plywood, posts, and poles both indoor and outdoor.

We supply public attractions across the country, including the San Diego Zoo, St. Louis Zoo, Monteray Bay Aquarium and Six Flags.

Q: Some of our wood is rotting. What do I do?

Call us with a description of what you need replaced and we’ll fabricate it to the exact dimension and match the existing structure. Many historical structures have been saved by our ability to replicate wood components.

Q: What do you need to get started?

Just call and send us the design plans or specs for what you need. If we don’t feel we can be competitive, we’ll suggest other sources. Otherwise, we’ll provide a detailed estimate and timeline for completion of the work. You’ll receive a quality product correctly fabricated and treated to last a generation.

Bridges

Your Natural Resource For Wood Bridges.
At Permapost, all our bridges are built of one thing, deep respect for the environment. The classic quality and craftsmanship of our work has helped us become one of the finest wood bridge manufacturers. And since our bridges last a lifetime, we design them to blend into the landscape. They're rugged and handsome, like the country they cross.
We Know The Territory. We've covered a lot of ground in our experience and have manufactured a wide range of bridge designs and sizes. Each with different spans, functions, and bearing loads.
Permapost bridge design options include modular, post-tensioned, solid sawn timber, glulam, and nail laminated. We can also create customized designs to accommodate specific structural needs. Everything is provided, from the ground up.
Picnic Tables

Series 400 Picnic Tables
Made from high-quality, preservatively treated Douglas Fir, our tables are available in 7' or 8' lengths with 2", 3", or 4" plank thicknesses. Our tables have been proven durable in more than 30 years of use by the United States Forest Service, the Bureau of Land Management, and various Federal, State, and local agencies.
Custom configurations can be accommodated upon request.
Timber Crib Retaining Walls

There's nothing like heavy rain, wind and erosion to destroy a road embankment. Fortunately, there's nothing like a Permapost retaining wall to get it back in service and keep it there. Our timber crib retaining walls stand up to the elements and often last more than 80 years. They're custom built, pre-fabricated, pre-treated, and simply designed for any crew to install. They stand up to vibration, erosion, water, decay and whatever else Mother Nature can muster. Plus, unlike concrete or steel, our timber walls have a natural appearance that fits in beautifully with the natural environment.
