Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden
Portland, Oregon
Crystal Springs Rhododendron Garden in Portland, Oregon, is a unique seven-acre garden containing an outstanding collection of rare species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, as well as many companion plants and trees.
Because the gardens are so beautiful, years of foot traffic over its paths and walkways was starting to take its toll. Part of the facility's major overhaul included a 200-foot bridge. Permapost K-520 (Copper Naphthenate) was used to pressure treat the glulam stringers and decking. The posts and handrails were treated with Permapost K-8 (Copper-8-Quinolinolate). The internationally recognized garden is a popular spot during the spring when the rhododendrons are in full bloom.
