Roadside Pedestrian Bridge

Every day thousands of motorists pass a new roadside pedestrian bridge in Japan, but probably few of them realize the structure was fabricated and pressure treated in the United States.
The 150 foot structure has a 13ft. camber at its midpoint and the design allowed only a 5 millimeter tolerance over the completed length of the bridge. The fabrication process encompassed many critical details, including precise hardware location and intricate cross-bracing. The stringers measure 6 3/4" x 43 3/8" and were pre-assembled and match marked to assure exact fit.
All the materials in the structure were pressure treated with light solvent pentachlorophenol (LST), and loaded into 40 foot containers for shipping.
